Fontainebleau

We left Paris in the morning and after what seemed like a short train ride cross country we arrived at Fontainebleau- Avon station. A bit lost alongside with a few other tourists we all got in a bus and 5/10 minutes later we arrived at the castle. 

Here is a little of this amazing place...



I must say one of the things I regreted was not having taken a bottle of wine and some snacks and have a picnic in this amazing spot! Next time...

Paris - for a first timer

I am starting this blog with one of my favorite cities in the world, Paris! Also one of my biggest friends is travelling there in a few months and asked me for some tips so here we go:  Paris was the first place I ever travelled outside of Portugal by airplane. I was about 4 or 5 and I spent a few days with my parents in the city. Of course all I remember from this trip was walking around a lot, eating at McDonald’s because I found the food strange and going to the only place that will overshadow Paris for any child (and even some adults) - EuroDisney ! You see even a current travelling lover had to learn how to travel at some point :) Many years passed, I have been to Paris another 5 times and I can say, without a doubt, that the more you go to city of lights, the more you love it! Every time you visit there is something new to do…a new shop, a new trendy restaurant, a new bar, a temporary art exposition you simply must see! And then there are all the timeless things of Paris

Did anybody say Sushi?

As a pseudo sushi lover, trying new places is always great fun! You can find a lot of sushi places in both Lisbon and Cascais and not for a very high price! Sushi and Gin This place used to be known as Infusão. This new project of mixing sushi and the gin trend, has only started a few months ago. Still for me the best thing in this place is the sushi! There is a all you can eat menu for 20€ and the sushi has good quality and is delicious! The bad part? I loved the idea of Sushi and Gin as I love both sushi and gin but I dont think it's working out the best. The first and second time I went there there were only a couple of gin brands and no gin bar that could make you a good mixure! There is only one brand of wine so the alternative is also not so good! Again the sushi is great!!!

"A love letter to the world"

Another art exhibition I truly recommend is Genesis from Sebastião Salgado.  "A love letter to the world" is how the Brazilian photographer sees his new work.  When you check out his exhibition, you will understand what he means. All black and white, his passionate shots are a mixture of very sudden captures and others where the world (and its inhabitants) just seem to be posing for the picture.  Salgado seems to have been everywhere, photographing simply nature in its pure state at the Amazonia jungle,  the glaciers, the grand canyon, the lost tribes - including the Zo'é which was only found 20 years ago in Brazil, and wild animals such as penguin communities or Uganda's last free gorillas. Yet, when you leave the exhibition you have a new perspective on how big our world is, and how many lost   paradises are still out there. I felt like grabbing my camera and just going out there to finish the work!
